At Orthopedic Centers of Colorado, you can expect to see your physical therapist with one-on-one time with individualized therapy services every visit. They will provide detailed examinations and education about why you have pain and how to avoid it from returning.

Physical and Occupational Therapists are rehabilitation professionals who evaluate and treat individuals of all ages who have medical or surgical problems or illness or injuries that limit their functional activities.

Physical and Occupational Therapists will commonly use exercise, manual therapy, mechanical devices, physical agents that may include heat, cold, electricity, soundwaves…to help the patient regain function.

Colorado Orthopedic Consultants also have Certified Hand Therapists (CHT) on staff.

A Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is an Occupational or Physical Therapist who, through advanced study and experience, specializes in treating individuals with conditions affecting the hand, wrist forearm, elbow and shoulder girdle.

Certified Hand Therapist’s are expert in:

  • Management of open or sutured wounds
  • Control of hypertrophic or hypersensitive scars
  • Reduction of swelling
  • Management of pain
  • Sensory re-education after nerve injury
  • Splint fabrication for prevention or corrections of injury
  • Conditioning prior to return to work
